Fairfield Patrician Brothers FC History begins in 1973, when Maurice Gilli, then a teacher at Patrician Brothers College Fairfield, helped establish the club. The early years saw us enter fierce local competitions, setting the tone for a culture of grit and excellence that quickly delivered our first premiership titles.
By our peak, we grew to 37 diverse teams, successfully entering the Premier League and maintaining a respected presence for years while producing elite talent and securing countless junior and senior accolades. What began as a small vision for local youth expanded exponentially across the decades. By our peak, we grew to 37 diverse teams, successfully entering the Premier League and maintaining a respected presence for years while producing elite talent and securing countless junior and senior accolades.
Across five decades, our club secured legendary status through multiple premierships. 2017 marked a specific highlight with an extraordinary Under 15 team reaching new heights for our junior division. Fairfield Patrician Brothers Football Club is experiencing a powerful resurgence. After reaching a peak of 37 teams, we faced a period of decline that saw our numbers dwindle to just three senior sides.
Securing championships on and off the field, our club reached its latest peak as the 2025 Premier League Champions, maintaining our long-term place as a respected powerhouse. We take immense pride in the journey of former junior Paul Okon-Engstler, whose path from our local pitches to the 2026 World Cup stage serves as a beacon for every young player in our district. His story is a testament to what can be achieved when a community fosters talent and ambition.
1980s
Building a Football Club
What began as a small vision for local youth expanded exponentially across the decades. We focused on building a sustainable football environment that would serve the Fairfield community for generations to come. One of the most defining moments in our early history took place at The Crest, where our boys faced off against the Tasman Cup winners. This high-profile match showcased the raw talent and potential of our founding players. It set the stage for 1975, a landmark year where our dedication was rewarded with the club’s very first Premiership title.
