Club History: Season 1977

1977 saw the club field five teams in Southern Districts Football competitions. The club continued to establish a strong presence in the competition through both strong performances and fine sportsmanship.

Premiership success was brought to the club by way of the u14s who not only won the minor premiership but backed it up to do the double - winning the premiership in emphatic fashion.

Both the u11s and u17s played exceptionally well throughout the season, reaching the final in their respective competitions only to narrowly lose out in the decider - the u11s winning the minor premiership in the process. They were complimented by the efforts of the u15s and u13s who both narrowly missed out on semi final births.

In what has to be some sort of a record, the u11s netted 180 times during the course of their season, conceding just 10 goals in the process. It was proof that the club had some real talent on its hands and this would be consolidated in the years to come.

Off the field, the involvement of parents in fundraising and volunteering was growing exponentially. It was help that assisted the club greatly in its establishment as a functional football club in the SDSFA.
